This week has been a rough one for both of the boys. Our moods have all been great, we've done a lot of fun things but there has been more crashing around than normal. First, at the beginning of last week, Silas smashed his face into the corner of my kitchen step stool. We nearly took him for a to the hospital stitch because he would not stop bleeding. He seemed just hunky dory but he went through 6 bandaids in about a day. The cut is just above his right eyebrow.
On Thursday I went to our basement (storage and laundry) to grab our mop and I closed the door firmly. I was absent for about 15 seconds when I heard the door open. My heart quickened, I turned around and in an instant I heard a cry of fear from Silas and watched my baby plunge head first down the wooden stairs. It was terrifying. I caught him while he was standing on his head about 2/3's of the way down. We clung to each other closely for a while, calming each other down, and five minutes later, Silas was his happy self again. He has a few bruises on his head and body and a scrape on his cheek but otherwise he seems just fine.
Friday brought damage to Ezra's body- he walked into a corner and has a big, purple goose-egg smack dab in the middle of his forehead. He cried a while but is also fine.
At the park on Saturday, it was injury for Ezra again. He was climbing up the latter and fell into the gravel. He has a nasty scrape on his cheek (they match!) and was a bit traumatized. This injury seems to be longest lasting as it is the only one of any of the boys' bumps that has shown signs of hurting after the incident.
So far today has been all clear of incident- we're hoping for a more careful week!
