Rob is in desperate need of new pants. He says he has one and a half pairs of suitable bottoms to wear to work. So, last month, in order to change this situation, we ordered him three pairs of pants from oldnavy.ca. He really likes the Old Navy pants and so we just ordered the same size and style he currently owns and we got a great deal- $56 for the whole shebang, and free shipping. BUT here's the thing: I've gotten so used to putting my apartment number in the space designated, "Apt. #" that I didn't include it on "Address Line 1". And there was no "Apt. #" space. So it was mailed to our building but not our home. Whoops, my bad. Although our phone number was on the package, we never received a call. So after we hadn't received them for a long time, we called Old Navy, it had been sent back to the main warehouse and they re-shipped it to us (with the Apt. #) no problem and no extra cost, should be here within the week.
Or so we thought.
Here we are, 5 weeks after ordering it (and it going through on our VISA may I add) and we still have no pants. So we call Old Navy again. Guess what? According to our Canada Post Tracking Number, they sent it to our street address but in Brampton, ON. We don't live anywhere near Brampton, ON. And the person who lives there SIGNED FOR IT, and the Canada Post Delivery person did not verify their identity. So he's just ended up with three lovely pairs of pants for free and we are S.O.L.
I really hope he's a 32X34 or else they're useless to him. Anyway, Old Navy has made a theft claim against Canada Post and we are getting a full refund.
We just re-ordered a bunch of bottoms for Rob from Old Navy. We got 35% off our next online purchase so we got a better deal. And this time the address is (supposedly) correct. So we will wait and see and I will be checking our Canada Post Tracking Number every single day until our travelling pants arrive.
The moral of the story is DOUBLE CHECK your address. This would never have happened if I would have put our apartment number there in the first place.

wow! that's pretty crazy! i can't believe someone got all those pants for free!
I know right? Ridiculous. I even know the guys name because it shows when I look up my tracking number. DEFINITELY not even close to similar to our name. We should call him. Haha, that's not a good idea. That could get ugly fast. Anyway, I'm mostly mad at myself and I'm a little suspicious I'm not getting my money back because they haven't reimbursed us yet...maybe we should have waited to re-order the pants...
So we got both our money back from order #1 and we recieved order #2 today! Woot woot!
