Ezra lied to me on Sunday morning. He didn't do it very well so I have hope he'll not fool for me a bit yet but it was still unsettling. Rob asked him to put his puzzle away before church and he did as he was told. I was in the bathroom fixing my hair, Ezra was in the hallway. I heard and saw the whole thing. He put his puzzle away and then- dumped it out to do it again. I scolded him, saying that we were heading out and that he was to be cleaning up. He said, "I AM cleaning it up!" I told him I knew what Daddy had said and that I saw him recently make it into an even bigger mess and he said he did not. So he got in trouble for lying to his mother, then he cleaned up his mess and finally, we were off to church.
Not really a huge lie. Not over anything important. But it is the beginning of something I am not going to like very much.
