We started our epic day of celebration by going to the Museum of Natural History. Ezra LOVES the museum, and for some unknown reason came to understand that in order to be three, he had to visit the museum yesterday. We had lent our van to a friend for the weekend, and due to the transit strike were slightly concerned we wouldn't make it there. We were more concerned as to how to convince Ezra that he'd be three even if we didn't go to the museum. Instead of worrying about that scenario, we enlisted the help of a friend to give us a ride and she graciously accepted. Here are a few shots of the fun we had there:

Then we came home, had a quick lunch and a long nap. Well, the boys slept while Rob and I cleaned the house, decorated with streamers and blew up balloons until our faces hurt. The guests arrived at 3PM and things went into full crazy toddler party mode. Ezra had three toddler friends, and Silas had two baby friends (who also happened to be siblings of the toddlers). Most of the parents of the children were also able to come for coffee and cake and craziness. It was a great party and the kids were loaded up with loot!

And Ezra actually ate his cake, not just the icing! |

Silas LOVED both the party and the cake! |
After everyone went home we had Ezra's special birthday supper. When he was asked what he'd love to have as his special birthday supper he replied, "I think I would like the pizza man to come and bring me birthday pizza." I thought that would be a great idea, as we rarely have pizza not made by me, and it's certainly rare that we have it delivered. It really would be a special treat. When I asked him what kind of pizza he wanted, what do you think he said? Pineapple and Olives. Yep. Gross. But he was sure and so we went with it. We ordered him an individual pizza with pineapple and olives, and something else for the rest of us :). Turns out he knew what he wanted because he LOVED it.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day special!
