Fear, Anguish and Pain

I found this poem I wrote when I was grieving the sickness and death of my father. I realized it is not just for grieving, but also for trusting God in many times of change and uncertainty.

life is a mystery
it is profound
it is unordinary
it is complicated

life is hard
it is a time for growth
it is unexpected
and it is full of waiting

i am clinging on to ancient wood-
to a death died long ago

i am grasping here for some peace
and i know exactly where to go

i am holding on to what i know best-
a rock that cannot falter

i let go of my fear, my anguish, my pain
and bring them to You at the altar
