Today's ultrasound experience was awesome. Baby has had three "biophysical exams" these last three weeks in a row, and has scored 8/8 on all three. These exams look at things such as cord blood flow, amniotic fluid level, movement, etc. It is a great indication on the quality of life within the womb, and also Baby's overall health. They also specifically checked the placenta for infarctions (dead spots, which was the cause of my abruption last time) and found none. Next week, we have another full work up, and Baby is coming in 2 1/2 weeks! The nurse today was feeling quite generous, and gave us not one but TWO photos of our little one's face. They are in 3D! They require looking at them without focus a bit- hard to decifer, but it's a baby alright. Also, the nose looks quite large to me, but the nurse said they often look large because they're squished. The first photo has a hand with a finger in the mouth. The second shot is better, but has some of the placenta in the way.
35 weeks, 5 days
